When my friend died before his 50th birthday exactly one year ago, damn . . . that was it: I had to find a way to slow down time. Don’t you sometimes feel ‘there is so much to do but soooo little time!’
In the past I tried to slow my time down. The way I did it was to was to change jobs/moved cities or countries about every second year or so. I never stayed in one job longer that four years max.
You won’t believe how a big change such as moving to another country slows down time. The excitement of a new environment and new challenges undoubtable create the feeling that time moves so much slower. You get so much more done in a day, week or month. You create so many more memories. If you pack your mind with memories, it feels as if you’ve lived forever.
When my kids were young this also opened up exciting new worlds for them. To experience diverse cultures just widens one’s perspective of life. Not so?
Something else to do to slow down time is to pack in as much travel and events as possible into your life. Take a holiday at least once a quarter. Even if you just go away for a long weekend. I always found that after I returned from a trip, a week takes a hell of a long time to pass by. As soon as I’m back in routine, weeks start flying by faster and faster. Don’t you experience the same?
You also have a deadly disease, my friend. If you’re lucky it might be called ‘old age’, else it can be called cancer or any of a thousand other words. Even ‘accident’.
The point is this: STOP living like you’re going to live forever! It’s NOT going to happen! By just existing and waiting for your funeral is such a slap in your Maker’s face! He gave you all the talent, including a MIND with thinking abilities. Bob Proctor always says ‘we are God’s highest form of creation‘. We are the only species that have mental faculties such as reason, perception, will, imagination, intuition and memory. But do we use them? I mean, really, do we use it? All God ask from us in return for this gift is that we use them and become the best we can!
The other day I watched a video by Todd Herman. He talks about the 90 day year. That gave me the idea of New Year goals every quarter! Since then I’ve been getting more done than ever before.
Isn’t that just cool? A birthday every quarter! You can grow 400 ‘years’ old if you look after yourself. And use your Mind. How’s that?!
